Tajikistan exports 31% of production in 9M20

Tajikistan exported 990,000t of cement in the January-September period of 2020, according to the country’s Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. Around 31 per cent of the cement produced in the country was exported in the 9M20, mainly to Uzbekistan (562,000t), Afghanistan (391,000t) and Kyrgyzstan (43,000t). Tajikistan exported 1.1Mt of cement to neighbouring countries in the first 10 months of 2018, an increase of 30 per cent compared to the year-ago period, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT). Huaxin Gayur Cement Co Ltd, located in Yovon district of Khatlon province, Tajikistan, reportedly signed an agreement with Afghanistan’s Shamal Sharq in early December to supply 500t of cement to Afghanistan. New Tajikistan-China joint venture set for commissioning

A joint Tajikistan and Chinese enterprise is to start commissioning of its 1Mta cement plant at the end of this month, a spokesperson for the Tajikistan's Ministry of Energy and Industry (MoEI) has said. The joint venture, called Huaxin Ghayur Cement, has been constructed in the Yovon district, Khatlon province, Tajikistan. “The construction of the plant has practically been completed and it just remains to complete the commissioning process,” the official MoEI source said.
